Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.

009 will work, in some cases, with older versions of Mac OS X 10.2 , however these are not tested, and are not supported by Gallery.

USB Port

The USB port is required for the dongle. For best results, use a built-in USB port, although USB ports from PCI expansion cards will also generally work well.

Serial Port.

009 should support any serial port available to OSX. The preferred device is a KeySpan Twin Serial USB adaptor, although other ports should work fine too.

Mac Sound Input (optional).

To read LTC for conversion to MTC, 009 uses the Mac Sound Input minijack reading LTC on channel 1 (left) of the input. Some macs do not have sound input (eg Quicksilver G4). In this case, a 3rd party sound input device can be used such as Griffin's iMic. However built in Mac sound is preferable where available. Sound input is not required for 009 operation, but the conversion of LTC to MTC to feed your audio editor is very convenient, avoiding the need for an external peripheral interface.
