MediaMunger finally offers a solution to the problem of media interchange between Avid and QuickTime based video systems, by offering an affordable, 1-click, simple to use bi-directional conversion between OMF video and QuickTime. MediaMunger is a carbon application which runs natively on OS9 and OSX.

MediaMunger converts VIDEO media between Avid OMF video files, in ABVB or Meridien, and QuickTime, using any available QuickTime codec. Media Munger also offers instant preview playback of OMF Video files, without opening a bulky editing application.

The Ability to convert QuickTime to OMF, and also OMF to QuickTime finally brings full compatibility between Avid and QuickTime video subsystems, and offers users of obsolete Avid ABVB equipment the opportunity to accept video material from QuickTime and Meridien sources, plus the ability to record with their hardware and deliver in QuickTime or Meridien formats. The software allows conversion between ABVB and Meridien formats, using QuickTime uncompressed as an intermediate format. Alternatively, users can encode directly from raw OMF into embedded ABVB or Meridien in a single step using Avid QT Codecs.

 FORMATS SUPPORTED
A wide range of Avid video formats are supported including uncompressed Meridien 4:2:2, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 15:1, 20:1, and dozens of AVR formats from AVR75 down to AVR1. All available quicktime codecs are available as source and destination formats.
