One of the most important parts of Mtools is its uniquely powerful authoring functionality. Mtools effortlessly transfers all your audio assets into an organised, self contained library.
Following the transfer of your audio cds, which takes as little as 3 minutes per CD (fastest results are with mTOOLS 4.0 on OSX, OS9 ripping is a little slower), you will have a fantastic audio resource, with each index of each track as a discreet SD2, WAV or AIF file, with an embedded full description, viewable even in the finder (see above). The next step is to build a database of all your resources, including the transferred CDs, and any other audio files you already have on hard disc, in virtually any format.
That's it, you are done. Database built, ready for use. Note that because Mtools embeds all its description metadata into the file itself, you can easily rebuild the database in the future, should you reorganise your library.
